The History of Asbury Place Kingsport

Celebrating 35 Years as Kingsport’s Leader in Senior Living

Asbury Place Kingsport and Steadman Hill Assisted Living were founded in 1989 to support the growing demand for active senior living with a continuum of health services for future needs.

Carved into the foothills of the beautiful Bays Mountain, Asbury Place Kingsport provides seniors living in the Kingsport, Johnson City, and Bristol area and beyond with an engaging lifestyle and maintenance-free living on our Baysmont campus. The Steadman Hill campus supports Tri-Cities seniors in need of assisted living and memory care services.

A Rich and Full History

Asbury Place Kingsport was preceded by Asbury Place Maryville, which was founded in 1956 by the United Methodist Holsten Conference. While we no longer share an affiliation with the Methodist Church, we continue to honor our faith-based heritage and values – and we welcome people of all backgrounds, beliefs, cultures, and abilities. Asbury Place Kingsport remains Mission-driven in our operations, focusing foremost on providing quality senior living and senior care services in Tennessee.

We honor our spiritual heritage by fostering a spirit to do all the good we can – a spirit that is evident in our support of the greater Kingsport community.

Our 35-year history is built on realizing that our work is never done, that there is always one more opportunity to do all the good we can for those we serve. Now that you know more about our history, we invite you to explore more about what makes our community so special.
